Three years have passed since the fire at Shurijo Castle on October 31, and on November 3, a groundbreaking ceremony will be held to mark the start of full-scale restoration work on the seiden (main hall).

The Seiden is the largest traditional wooden building in Okinawa, and traditional construction methods will be used in the "Reiwa Restoration". The new knowledge gained after the Heisei restoration will be added to the restoration to bring it closer to the way it was during the dynastic period. The Seiden is scheduled to be completed in the fall of 2026.
