【En/Es】World Youth Uchinanchu Festival Opens with 70 Participants in Online Exchange, Learn about Grandparents' Immigrant Experiences

The 7th Worldwide Uchinanchu Festival Okinawa-2022, which opened online, was held at JICA Okinawa Nirai Hall in Urasoe City on the morning of April 27/El 7º Festival Mundial de Uchinanchu Okinawa-2022, que se inauguró en línea, se celebró en el Salón Nirai de JICA Okinawa en la ciudad de Urasoe en la mañana del 27 de abril.

The 7th World Youth Uchinanchu Festival, whichi young people aged 18-35 can interact with each other, opened on Oct. 27.
Various events, mainly online, will be held for three days from the 27th to the 29th.

On the first day, the online exchange program "Uncle/Auntie's HISTORY" was held to learn about the immigrant experiences of grandparents and others, with about 70 participants from around the world.

There were speeches by guest speakers and time for participants to discuss their family history with each other. The program was conducted in both Japanese and English.

The guest speakers were Kojiro Namisato, 34, an acerola farmer in Motobu-cho, and Juliane Oshiro, 20, a third-generation Brazilian resident of Kenyan descent, who shared their grandparents' experiences as postwar immigrants overseas with the participants.

El 27 de octubre se inauguró el 7º Festival Mundial de la Juventud Uchinanchu, en el que los jóvenes de 18 a 35 años pueden interactuar entre sí.
Durante tres días, del 27 al 29, se celebrarán diversos actos, principalmente online.

El primer día se celebró el programa de intercambio online "La historia del tío/la tía" para conocer las experiencias de los abuelos y otros inmigrantes, con unos 70 participantes de todo el mundo.

Hubo discursos de oradores invitados y tiempo para que los participantes hablaran de su historia familiar con los demás. El programa se desarrolló tanto en japonés como en inglés.

Los oradores invitados fueron Kojiro Namisato, de 34 años, agricultor de acerola en Motobu-cho, y Juliane Oshiro, de 20 años, residente brasileña de tercera generación de ascendencia keniana, que compartieron con los participantes las experiencias de sus abuelos como inmigrantes de la posguerra en el extranjero.
