Governor Denny Tamaki expressed his thanks and welcome to the participants from overseas, and called on the residents along the roadside, "Please welcome them warmly with your chimugukuru (heart), saying "mattchotandoh" (we have been waiting for you)' and 'Mensoriyoh (come in)'.

I hope that this event will bring Uchinanchu closer together and take us to greater heights. The memories we make on Kokusai street will be irreplaceable," he said.

In principle, the festival is held once every five years, and the 7th festival was scheduled for 2021, but due to the spread of the new coronavirus, it was postponed for one year. The opening ceremony is scheduled to be held at Cellular Stadium Naha in Naha City on November 31, and various events will be held until November 3 to deepen exchanges between the prefecture's residents and people of foreign descent.
